Shopping Cart and Checkout
Standard features of the shopping cart include ability for customers to:
- - Add items
- - Modify quantities
- - Option to proceed to checkout or continue shopping (link to where they came from)
- - Cookies to enable cart contents to be stored for extended periods of time
- - Option for either a one or multi-page checkout
- - Cart may be displayed inline with static pages
- - Ability for one cart to serve multiple product lines or sites
Additional features include:
- - Auto emails - Order confirmation
- - Successful or unsuccessful order processing
- - Product recommendations
- - Product out of stock, back order, or now in stock notifications
- - Abandoned shopping cart tracking and follow-up
- - Orders may be processed offline into the system. For example, a customer service representative on the telephone with a customer is able to place an order via a simple interface
- - Transmit order information to third parties or fully handled within the platform itself (invoices, purchase orders, pick/pack/ship, etc.)
The platform accommodates the following types of orders:
- - Standard orders - multiple items, all items are in stock, one or more shipping addresses
- - Gift orders - hidden prices; gift messages and wrapping
- - Back orders - inventory was exhausted, orders are placed in back-order status, and will ship within “x” days, or when available. The number of days is determined by client.
- - Pre-orders - product is due to arrive into inventory in “x” days and the customer can pre-order. The number of days is determined by client.
- - Split orders - contains products in stock and either on back order or pre-order
- - Repeat orders - without the need to store customer credit card information on our servers.
Returns and exchanges can be processed thru the platform and have varying levels of checks and balances.
